Thomas Kaethler

Thomas Kaethler grew up mostly in Manitoba, and is currently living in Orillia, Ontario. He took up accordion because a friend gave him an accordion for helping her move. He took up ukulele because he gifted someone a ukulele and they didn't want it.  Thomas has a Grade 3 piano background that his parents forced him to take until he refused to practice and they gave up.

Dad: Are you sure you wanna quit? You'll regret it when you're older.

10-year old Thomas: No I won't.

During lockdowns in 2020, Thomas bought a microphone to record music to send to his Oma. Then he became embroiled in a song-writing challenge with artist-collaborator Purple Bird (Springtime In Ontario), and wrote his first song (The Houseplant Song). He went on to win a bet with his sister for 3 hours of service, and tasked her to write a couple songs with him (To The River, Matt The Treeplanter).

On a road trip to a haskap farm, he wrote a song with his friend about the experience (Turcot Road).  For his birthday in 2024, he was gifted a session with his cousin in studio to record that song and remix it (Haskap Song).

Eventually he decided he wanted to release an album of music that these collaborations had given him. His debut album, Eleven, is the culmination of these efforts, and will be released on 30 April 2025 in affiliation with MorningStar Records.
